I think it would be easier if you made a list of equipment you don't have. Speaking of an equipment list, have you ever given thought to posting a list of all the equipment you use or updated on the first post of your tank thread?

I actually have the info on a spreadsheet. Great suggestion to put it on my build thread.

I should also put together a list of stuff I still want. Can never have enough gadgets

I have one facing the tank but I never look at it unless I am away for a few days. I mainly want to see if there is still water in the tank because we went to Europe once and my tank sitter let the water level fall about 7" so all the corals above that, died.

I just installed a reolink E1 pro because the feed can be piped into fusion for a one tap (app) glance at the tank and parameters.. Simple and cheap. I also run a reolink system at a business and like the ease of use fwiw

Yeah I couldn't get my wyze to work because it doesn't expose a http stream; then I spaced out and plugged it into the eb8 aquabus and poof...the wyze was no longer an option. So in looking for local stream cameras the reolink e1 came up. It has a rtsp stream. I use go2rtc to convert it to http for the apex to use. Still working on external exposure but my network needs a bit of a redesign and that's for another day lol. Played with esp32 cam (and learned alot) but the reolink is very polished in comparison and for only like 20 bucks more...done.

One of the coolest things for me after being away from the hobby for a decade and a half is the tech. Advanced controllers, LED lighting, controllable pumps, and much more becoming mainstream. One of the pieces of tech (not really reef related) I really like are cams. It's really comforting when I'm away to do a quick visual check of the tank. It's also good to look back at footage when something happens to help find out how and why.

I have two for my tank. One for the display and one for the sump. If you have one, show it here. I'm curious to see your setup.

Sadly, I lost a yellow wrasse when setting up this tank and was able to see what happened.

Love the tank. Nice setup with the cameras. Sorry about the wrasse. That's crazy how quick they jump out.

How long were you gone? Thats a ton of evaporation! Losing that many corals must of been painful! Did any pumps burn out as well?

All my cams are Reolink. I have about 20 on my property and they’ve been rock solid. Mostly POE cams recording to a 32 channel NVR with close to 30 terabytes of storage.

I’ve considered piping the can to Fusion. Now I have to do it! I may tap you for info if I get stuck.

I think we were gone for 8 days. The pumps were still underwater but the water was splashing on the walls

Remember I don't have a sump so when a little water evaporated, it goes down quick. Like an inch a day

I didn't realize you didn't had no sump. Evap goes quick too. I get about a couple of gallons a day in my 180.

I'm in the same boat you are. It's been about 13 years for me and ALL THE TECH is awesome! So, so many improvements. And new things like Fleece Rollers! Never seen one of those. I'm about 3 years from starting my tank, so we'll see where tech has gone in another three years!

I love that I started back up and having so much enjoyment from it. I'm big on mechanical filtration and when I was on my 3rd sock wash I said, THAT'S IT! I hate washing socks and got a fleece roller. I LOVE it! A bit expensive to run as the rolls aren't cheap, but talk about something that really reduces maintenance time.

I have had good luck with the reolink Zoom and i purchased some orange film off amazon and taped it over the lense. Another nice thing about the reolink is it alows RSTP streams so you can use it in OBS for Youtube streaming etc.
