Does adding invertebrates stress fish?

I was wanting to add more invertebrates but my blue hippo has minor symptoms of ich, will it be fine if I add them or will it cause the fish to have more stress?

No, all I'm doing is giving a sheet of nori daily and giving him frozen and flake food supplemented with vitachem
