Ive had this rbta for about two months ish and tank is 3 months when i got him he was big and puffy and very vibrant even in the new tank.
Medium flow
9-10dkh
77 F
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0 (possible concern but ik they like clean water
Ph 8.2-8.4
Par is probably close to 200 where he is placed im slowly increasing to not hurt my other corals
Im dosing allforreef and thats why my nitrates are 0 i guess due to carbon additive in it?? I used to have 15-20ppm nitrate
I feed him about 3-4 times a week and dose ab+

I would agree that zero nitrate and/or phosphate isn't healthy for any coral or anemone, 15-20 ppm nitrate is a much better range than zero, in my opinion. Do you know what your phosphate is?

And if it helps, All For Reef isn't a carbon dosing product like TM's NP Bacto Balance. All For Reef maintains Alk, Calc, Magnesium (<with some debate) and trace elements. None of that will have any effect on your nitrate, so something else had other remove the nitrate, such as large water changes, or your 0.0 ppm nitrate test may be inaccurate.

Yea im not sure about phos i need to get a test kit and im running red sea kit possible its faulty but it worked the day just before i did some research and saw people were having the same effect when dosing all for reef. My other coral seem to be fine so perhaps my kits faulty but im having a issue with diatoms so ik its low nutrients so im gonna feed heavily to see what happens

I agree that anemones need adequate nutrients and stable conditions, which are interrelated issues in young tanks. At three months, your system likely experiences both nutrient deficiencies and parameter fluctuations that stress your anemone. Consistent maintenance should help as the tank matures and develops a more stable nutrient cycle. That is why the standard hobbyist recommendation is waiting six months before adding an anemone (obviously not a hard and fast rule; with my most recent anemone tank I added them a week in since I used live rock from an existing tank and they have thrived). That said, anemones sometimes exhibit odd behavior even in ideal conditions, so not every concerning sign indicates a genuine problem. Just keep an eye on it.
