Hi all. Well, I got it....BJD. I brought in a new Acan Lords a week ago, and everything was looking good, but then a few days later I noticed brown jelly across the back of it., It has also spread to a nearby Euphyllia garden that had 9 heads of frogspawn and 3 purple/green hammers. Anyway, I have read enough to know what to do for the most part. I took the acan out and treated immediately to an iodine dip, and blew off areas with a turkey baster, then a new batch of iodine and did the same with my hammer/frogspawn garden. I put the acan into my QT tank, and it was retracted, but still had decent color, I was hopeful, but realistic. Sure enough 3 days later it was entirely gone. Dang. My hammer and frogspawn however has blossomed back up after 2 iodine dips a few days apart. I did lose 3 frogspawn heads, but all the rest are looking good.
Now, I do have a few 500mg tablets I just picked up from my vet of Cipro. I have read articles on how to use them and how much water to add a 500mg tablet to, BUT I do NOT know how much to dose a 20 gallon reef tank. I want to dose the tank the next few days to treat the water, and just as a precaution for my Euph. garden yet, and I do have a fairly new Torch in the tank too. Can anyone give me guidance on how much of the Cipro treated RO water I should dose for a 20g tank?
Thanks for any insight.
