So I've been trying to reduce my phosphates. Tank usually runs .05, it crept up in last month to .11
Would like to get it back down.
Bought some Brightwell, Phosphat E about a month ago.

220g

Tried recomended dose of 3.3ml Into skimmer. Tried it into filter area. Nothing happens at all. Probably tried it 6 times over the last month. It doesn't go down one bit.
Have 3 Hanna phosphate checkers and they're all in agreement.

Any ideas??

Your rock might be leaching phosphate, so lowering it with Lantanum cloride doesn't keep up with rate of leaching.
I would also recommend dripping Lantanum slowly over few hours into 5 micron filter sock or into skimmer area.
Phosphate-E stripped my tank of phosphates too fast in the past, so I would recommend caution.

Like Thor2j said....

Try measuring immediately after dosing. Opinions of others and my anecdote is that the phosphate can come back up (from the rocks) in 12 to 24 hours. Even though it might bounce back up... hitting zero is a bad thing - so be careful about boosting the dose.

Did you ever figure this out? I’m having the same issue. Tried dosing into the filter mat, skimmer neck and skimmer intake and not coming down from .21. Really frustrating lol I don’t have any new rock I’ve just been feeding more because I was going through some Dino’s.
