I placed an order with Dr. Reef and I have a couple questions.

1.) Are all of their animals quarantined? The invoice shows "quarantined" next to all of the animals except for the anthias. Nothing is specified, but I bought them assuming that they would be quarantined as well.

2.) When can I expect to hear from them regarding the order? I asked a question in my order notes, and I was hoping to get an answer from them sooner rather than later.

Regardless, I am excited to give this a try!

1. I believe they sell fish as “quarantined” or “conditioned”. Their full QT and conditioned procedures are outlined on the website

2. Not sure about this

I've ordered from him twice and currently have a third in process. The first email you get is order confirmation. You will get a second when livestock is acquired and starting quarantine. Usually the final one will be to let you know they are done and a invoice is being sent. If you have a direct question I would email them in a separate message. I've never had to wait more than a day or two for a reply. Normally it's the same day.

Hi can you please tell me your order #
Normally our system will send emails every step of the way like mentioned above.
If you purchased livestock from they are all qted

If you like to purchase conditioned livestock then our website is

By the way on www.drreefsquarantinedfish.com
All anthias are always fully qted.

So I looked at your order, in fact we can ship your order next week as all livestock is very common livestock that we normally carry qted pretty much all the time.
But your notes said not to ship till may 23rd so we held back.

If you like us to ship is earlier we can arrange it otherwise you will hear a week before shipping day for payment. Once payment clears, you will be placed on the schedule to ship that week.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Oh! That's great! If they are all ready for shipping, I have a relative in town next week who would be able to receive the animals if I were not home. If you send over the invoice, I can make payment, and we can get on your schedule. The only day we are not available is Monday.

Do with this what you will.
I got fish from Dr. Reef qt'd Convict tang. Came alive packaged well fish looked great. The tang was nice and fat, eats like a pig. Everything you want a tang to be.
Noticed the convict had a 1/8 diameter "pimple" looking thing back bottom of his body. Reached out in the disease threads, only 1 so I figured maybe nothing, but I noticed he was scratching first his side then near the top of his body. Hit up chatgpt most likely flukes. In treatment right now with prazi, tang not scraping anymore.
Other fish I have in the tank are a Gem Tang, 2 clowns, and a firefish. All been in the tank for several months no issues.
Overall very happy with the fish, just annoyed that I have to deal with this issue.

Quick aside for anyone interested. The Gem harassed the Convict pretty good, setup a mirror took attention away from the convict. That took all of 2 days and now they get along.

I am really sorry to see you had a minor hiccup.
Regarding the tangs. We normally qt an order together so aggression doesn't happen. If we can't make them buddies, at least make them tolerable to co exist.
Now the matter of flukes. In some rare cases that happens.
There are some strains of flukes that are resistant to prazi. We treat our fish first 14 days in copper and next 14 in prazi metro etc.
In those last 14 days prazi can only be administered 2 times as you have to have 5 to 7 days gap between doses.
These resistant flukes in those 2 doses dont completely die out. It need 1 or 2 more doses or a much stronger dose than instructed on the bottle. Normally 1 or 2 doses of prazi in clients tank rids them for good. This only happens rarely. Unfortunately it did in your case. In such situations we extend our guarantee to customer and also help with knowledge and medicine for free to rid the issue and guarantee if any livestock dies during treatment we will replace it for free even if it wasn't purchased from us.
Again sorry for the hiccup and if you pm me I will try to make it up to you.

Nothing but good experiences from Dr. Reef for me. All my fish were delivered in good health and have done very well.
Very responsive communication.
Thank you, @Dr. Reef!!!
I also have purchased from Dr. Reef (at least 3 times) and I've always had a great outcome. His fish have always been healthy and robust and he is so accommodating and willing to resolve any issues that may arise. I recommend Dr. Reef highly!!
