Slowly starting the setup process for a new 180g saltwater. Should I drill the overflow holes prior to, or after painting? I see advantages both ways.

Thank you. I didn't think about the gasket seal against the glass. I will drill the holes first. Then paint, leaving room around the hole for the gasket and bulkhead. I will use painters tape around the hole, I am a sloppy painter. This area will be blocked from view by the Synergy Reef overflow I am using.
