Is the tank empty? Have you used polarized lenses and a laptop to check to see if the glass is tempered? I always check the glass myself before deciding to drill.

You should always check the pane you are about to drill. The test isn't hard. I always suggest looking at the bottom first. It is usually tempered and you see what you will be looking for. Then you know that you are doing the test correctly.

If the glass isnt polarized then when you flip the glasses about 90 degrees in front of the glass with the lcd inside the tank you should see nothing, if you see gray streaks then its tempered. You can also use a color ti-84 calculator if you have one handy.

Agree to do the sunglasses test. If it’s a real oceanic tank then they were mostly not tempered. I don’t recall that they made a half round though. Oceanic name got bought and used by coralife I think. Those may well have been tempered.
