Is there any reason I shouldn’t be dry dosing monopotassium phosphate directly to my system (without mixing in solution first)?

I use one .05 ml dry scoop directly into my tanks overflow and it consistently raises my PO4 by .04 in my 300 gallon system.

I only dose when I see my PO4 approaching .02. I like to keep between .06 - .1.

Seems fine. Only possible problem could be local precipitation of some calcium or magnesium phosphate. If that is not happening there’s no issue.

Thank you Randy. Will the amount I’m dosing have any significant impact on my potassium level?

Very little, but some. I recommend sodium in most cases, but the problem is much smaller than using potassium nitrate since so much less is added.
