Duncan Coral black

Hi everyone!

our Duncan Coral is turning black. it started just a little bit and now its getting bigger. the other seems to be fine and its getting a new head. should I get rid of the the black one? and if yes how do I get it off, just break it? thanks

Is it in close proximity to another coral? If so, what coral and how far away is it?

Looks as if something stung it and it started dying, but I am no expert.

yes it was close to anther coral

and I just noticed that the other coral is not doing well either :eek: it shows his skeleton.the other coral was covered in sand a little bit. I just blowed it away and noticed : can it recover? and is It now to close to the torches?

I would guess coral war. I have seen this before. Those torches pack a nasty sting! I think the rule on a torch is 6 inches away from everything at a minimum.

Duncans are pretty hardy corals and should recover. I had something similar happen to a dendro coral and the head that turned black fully recovered. It has even grown several more heads! This was a lobo coral that basically ejected its guts out and latched onto it. Definetly recommend you wait till ligts are out and then watch the torch to see how long the sweeper tentacle is.

so the Duncan could be stung from the lobo? I think the lobo is showing his skeleton because it was laying too much in the sand. Is the lobo gonna recover? I never seen the sweeper tentacle with our torches
