Why are my Duncan's contracted? They've been like this for about 5 months. I thought they were dying, never died, but can't figure out what's wrong. Parameters are all fairly normal

Calc - 400
Alk - 9.0
Mag - 1200

Maybe too much light or too much flow?

Looks like too much flow. Try moving it low in your tank and give it low flow. After it's acclimated to the area, move it into Med. flow. I did this to mine and now they're open all of the time in Mod. flow and growing like crazy. I have to frag every month:rolleyes:

Yeah they acclimate to different flow. Mine are right below the return nozzles and have a good waving motion and love it.

Yeah they do like random flow but it takes them a little while to get used to it.

IF YOU HAD TO OPERATE EVERYTHING ELSE MANUALLY, WHICH AUTOMATED SYSTEM WOULD YOU KEEP?
