Well I figured I would finally start my own thread up. Nice and simple 14 BC. Stock lighting plus one strip of Trulumins LED. Bio balls are gone in favor of some Chemipure and the stock filter taken apart to hold my filter floss.

As of date my list is
Coral: a few random Zoas, a mushroom, a few acans, birds nest, pulsing Xenia, frogspawn and a red bubble tip.

Fish: 1 skunk clown, 1 chromis, a cleaner and a peppermint shrimp.

I'll add pictures a little later on tonight!

My lights are shutting off soon so this is the tank with just the blues and acentics (sp?)

I'm also currently battling ich and I'm not too excited about it.

My pink skunk clown decided it wanted to host in the frogspawn and not the RBT it went in my tank with. Figures.

So for the longest time I couldn't keep any fish alive. Clowns gone, fire fish gone, 2 spot goby (one of my favorites) gone. I ended up getting 2 chromis but lost one just the other day to what I thought was because of the ich. Turns out it had some sort of stomach disease. I noticed last night my other one is showing symptoms as well.

Kind of hard to see but that slight discolouration on his belly.

So what's everyone's opinion on bristle worms?...
20160404_200453.jpg

This particular piece of rock has been a bit of a headache for me. It started out life decent sized and really nicely shaped. And then I noticed a rather larage bobit worm. I had a picture but I'm not sure where they are now unfortunately.

In the refugium bristle worms are not a problem. A lot of wrasses will take care of them in the DT, like the sixline wrasse. They will eat coral if it's safe to come out in the open or if they can hide in the underside of the coral. I have found they prefer to eat detritus.

Where this worm is, there isn't any coral near it. It's on the back side of the rock and the closest thing is a mushroom. I'm not too terribly worried about it.

I've personally never really been much of a wrasse fan but some can be really cool looking!

In other news, I was able to put in some time at my LFS for some store credit. Once I'm done with this medication I'll be getting some coral and fish. I'd really like a blued eyed anthia.

Gotta love erythromycin. I know my corals sure aren't very fond of it.
2 more days of this and probably another week or so of the ich attack treatment.

I'm not sure how somepeople can get bored with reefing?!
20160406_220633.jpg

(Sorry for the bad picture)
I found this little guy tonight. I haven't seen a single crab that I didn't put in there since I set this tank up, and now this little guy. Ha! He's up near my Zoas so I'll keep an eye on him along with the bristle worm (who has officially been spotted on both sides of the rock it's in). If either become a problem, I'll do some extermination. Muahahahahah. Lol sorry it's late.

I don't think common bristle worms a problem. Mine are comfortable coming out in the open when the lights are on and they never bother any coral. Good clean up crew if you ask me.

In that case, you can get an arrow crab or a wrasse to take them out. I hear the sixlines get territorial as they get older though. May want to research both thoroughly before pulling the trigger.

I've thought about doing both, I can't see doing an arrow unless I had a large tank with multiple worms and the 6 line is still a possibility. I thought I had read somewhere that the females were more likely to become territorial with age. I could be wrong though.. I was married once lol

Do some research with potential predators if you're looking at an arrow crab. My flame hawk bit off every leg, leg by leg.

Nice looking tank. I have a six line wrasse and love her, great personality!

That's good to know, I really like the way the six lines look and may still consider getting one. I may end up going with a pink streak or pygmy wrasse instead if I can ever find one. I've read they are pretty passive. I'm not sure if either would do anything for bristle worms though. They're both probably too small to take on the bristle worms in my tank any way :D

@Chrisfish Thanks! Probably gonna do a little rescaping once I'm done with the Ich Attack.

@powers2001 Thanks for the heads up!

@Tori I didn't even know there were pygmy wrasse! I'll have to look into those. My Chromis is huge and I prefer smaller fish in this tank. I would love a pygmy angle like powers tank!
