I want to get dwarf ponies. I understand they require daily feedings of live food and I got a hatchery to get my live food breeding to a science before I get the horses.

But I'm hitting a snag. Several times a year I go away for a few days to a week and I am entirely unsure if I am confident in letting my petsitter feed the dwarf horses since it's not as simple as throwing pellets into the tank while I am away. Erring on the side that I cannot get them to eat frozen.. what can I do for the week I am not there?

I am planning ahead and making sure its a wise choice for me. This is basically what's stopping me right now, is the vacation days.

Build a mandarin feeder based on @Paul B design. They work great for vacations just to use a auto feeder to drop in some eggs and a doser to get them to tumble a bit. Here is one I made out of conch shell but any shallow vessel works and cover the top with pantyhose. Cut a hole in the back at the bottom and run some 1/2" tubing up to the surface.
