E5 questions

Hope this is the correct forum. I know they are new but if anyone can answer these questions I would appreciate it.

Can the e5 be used without a reflector?
Since they use 45% less watts can you increase the number of bulbs on a ballast?

I have an icecap 430 ballast i use as supplement to my MH. I can only use 2 t5 with reflectors, due to space of the MH reflectors size. But if e5 requires no reflectors. I can increase the bulb count and par.

You cannot add more because of wattage.

But you don't "need" a reflector, most light is downward. There will be a bit (5-10%) you lose out the sides, it's not a requirement like a T5

Currently Marine Depot has them, but some limited stores will start to have them over the next month or two. And they should be shipping out to shops across North America in late March, early April!
