I don't have the Gen 3, I only have the previous Radion Pro but it's great. I was running dual 250w MH with Actinic on my last 90 gal. Running a single Radion Pro at 45% on my 40 gal (20" deep) and the SPS and Soft Corals are doing very well. If I had it turned up to 80 or 90% they would fry!!

I'm nervous about investing 700$ into one led fixture. Is the light truly worth this?

What are you nervous about?

The light is a excellent light.
I have 4 Radions on 2 tanks. 3 gen 1's on my 240 softy tank, and 1 gen 1 that was upgraded to a gen 3 on my 50 gallon lps/sps tank.
The programing software is what really separates this light from the others.
I just saw a friends tank that has the gen 2 Pros on it and he has the reeflink unit also. He showed my how he can use his smart phone to make any change he wants to the program from anywhere in his house.

It's just seems like a lot for one fixture. Ecotech said one gen 3 could cover a 93 gallon cube with the dimensions of 30x30x24, do you think it could?

Yes it would. I have seen them say that also and haven't seen anyone prove anything different.
I used a gen 1 Radion on my 30" x 20" x 20 lps/sps tank and got good coverage on the ends.
I did upgrade it to the gen 3 for the new leds they added.

It is a lot, but you are paying for a quality fixture and IMO premium software.
There are budget fixtures out there that are working great for people. Reef Breeders and Ocean Revive are 2 examples. There are a ton of people with these fixtures that have awesome tanks. And they think I'm crazy for spending the money I did for my fixtures.
But I'm happy and that is all that matters.

And how do you like the color of the lights?

I love the color of my Radions.
I have mine set for the deep blue at 9am, to go to a 20k look by 11 am, then by 2pm a 14 k look, then to a 20 k by 3pm and ramp down to a deep blue by 6:30pm then off at 8pm.
That's just a rough look at the schedule.

Cool that sounds very nice. Is the program to control the lights easy to operate?

It is fairly easy to program the lights. There is a learning curve just like anything else.
I'm older than many ( 61) and it took me a little while to know what to do to customize my program. You just have to experiment. The presets are very easy.
The customer service is excellent. The way the software ( cloud based) is setup, if there is a problem they can't fix with a short phone conversation, they will use a remote log-in program and do the fix themselves on your computer and explain what they are doing while you talk to them on the phone.

I use my older MacBook using safari. You can use a Windows pc, but you have to use Firefox. The software will not work with Internet Explorer.

I have 2 of the xr30w Gen 3 on my 75 long I have a tank thread up where you can see them over my tank I also use reef link and program them with my windows 7 comp and I can use my tablet or phone which I do often to control the lights I have mine turned down to 40 percent brightness and I still think its to much light started them out at 50 percent thinking that they wouldn't be as bright as everyone was saying and I bleached out everything at the top of the tank so be careful of that but the control you have is unmatched you can choose any color temp or color or have rgbw plus royal blue and Uv control and you can tune each color individually to fluctuate however you want during the day or night Complete control absolutely best up I have made for my Reef hands down if you would like me to post some pics of the lights just let me know!
