I was looking for some new ideas for my next tank set up, have had a desire for quite a while to make a very intricate aquascape with cave and hideaways. I came across some pictures of a set up with eels that had pvc pipe ran under a DSB that allowed the eel a real cool tunnel that could have 90 degree fittings on each side that could be camouflaged in the live rock. It would allow the eels to enter one side of tank and exit another. My question is does anyone see an issue with a design like this? Could it harbor unwanted problems? Nitrate or algae? It seemed like a cool idea but I have seen my ideas back fire before.

Make sure you have flow through that tunnel so detritus doesn't settle inside of it.
