Hello everyone i have a fun little story about my new snowflake eel that earnes the name El chapo.
I got his 2 days ago and he was pretty chill at first. When the lights went out he got a little wild checking out the tank but eventually calmed down and went back into his cave. I went to sleep around midnight and was woke up at about 3am by my dog needing to go to the bathroom. I went out to let him out of his kennel (I have fish tanks onto of the kennel on both sides of my fireplace).
I bent over to let the dog out and noticed a eel swimming around in the tank. (Not the tank i put him in).
First thought was am I going crazy
Second was did I get 2 eels...
Third I'm i just confused
Forth nope this is not the tank he was in before I went to sleep
Fith how in the fk did the eel make it into a tank 8ft away from the tank he was in.

There was no way to get down into the sump and make it back up.
I finally realized the only way he could have done it is by swimming through the sump return on the tank and down towards the y in the hard pipe and then back up the other side in into the other tank.

These things must be very strong swimmers....

I finally was able to catch him after about 1 hr of moving rock and yelling at him.
Oh and I dropped my phone in the tank and had to get a new one today....
Needless to say I ordered some screens for the return bulkhead to make sure this never happens again.

Now you all know why he earned the name El chapo. Escaping prison through a tunnel...

Have had snowflakes in many tanks over the past 50 years… quickly becomes the favorite of visitors, especially kids!
