As you tell the stand was shot and needed some tlc.

First step was get the tank and sump cleaned up.

Next step as you can see the stand was in rough so got the dimensions kept the door since it was in good shape. The rest went to the dumpster. My buddy I'm sure you all know Broadfield help build a new stand. Old stand was chipping and made out of laminated particle board. New stand is made out our 3/4" MDF primed and painted

IMG_0183.JPG Looks great . Fellow Elos owner. I have a 36 midi. I see you have the left side of your sump labelled "service unit" . Are you using this for top off compartment. I am still a bit perplexed by the two small compartments in front. My sump looks very much like yours. I am currently using it to run Chaeto and I have the skimmer discharging in the the one on the right. I am redoing the tank so will likely change the setup and replacing the sump with an Eschopps RS 75.
What light are you using?

Thank you, the sump was already labeled so I'm not sure what I'm going use it for honestly. I'm still researching the sump set up and seeing what people done. Looks like the owner modified it slightly.

I plan on ordering and AI Prime HD this week

The left side takes exactly 5 gallons on my sump so I use it for Top off with Kalkwasser for now.

Now that's a great redo of a stand.
Just wondered why you have the sump of the ground?
Might put some extra support under the shelf as 1 gallon of water is 8lb and just having it ground level is a piece of mind IMO.
Besides that GREAT build thread my friend.

Thanks Diesel the design is copied off the Elos stand, bottom shelf is glued with 2 1/2" screws holding it in place I have thought about putting some L brackets underneath it for a piece of mind.

Wow nice job on the stand. Broadfield with the red sea reefer? I enjoy seeing his handy work. Always liked the Elos tanks. Nice rock work too! I'll have to stay tuned to this one.

Looking good! I really like my Elos.

A word of caution though... Elos stands are meant to be around water. MDF is not. It's basically paper. It will swell/warp/split. Even if coated in moisture resistant paint.

The hinges are Euro hinges. Available at home depot/lowes.
