Hey everyone ? I hope all is well!! I am still alive and kicking lol;)!

I am still looking at all my options on what to do for when I get home. I have tons of ideas in my head and I Truthfully and Honestly can't really tell what to do or which plan/ option to go with. I have thought of a MULTIPLE tank system to a single large DISPLAY tank. I truly torn and cant decide on what to do.

Part of me is really thinking just to wait tell I get home and access the situation when I am home and from there see what I CAN DO or what I can GET AWAY with lol  . I have saved some money toward what ever fish project I am going to attack once I am home though. I wish I could have saved more truthfully but we have been paying a lot of debt of sense I have been gone , and truthfully cant complain about that at all.

Just want to give you all a quick little update ! I am hoping my fish fund can at least hit 1K by the time I get home so that way I have some money to play around with lol ;) and start planing with!!! I'll keep you all in the loop thank you all again !

Thank you for Embarking the Journey with me , Clayton J.

Keep on Tanking !!!

So I am finally back home, which has been amazing I must say! It was very nice to have One of Two aquarium packages waiting for me after deployment.;)

I placed order with a Aquarium Speacilty a little before I left Cuba. I got the first package which contained my new skimmer and a New lighting set up for me. I received the following items in my package :

Reef Octopus 110SSS skimmer
RMS 30.5" Light Track
RMS XR-15 light mounts x 2
RMS Hanging Kit

The package that has not showed up is the following item :

Bashsea Mano Sump

As you all can see I am going a complete different route with my reefing journey ! I choose to go with my free IM 30L EXT and APS stand that I won from my give away. I figured why not use a FREE tank as my display tank! I do apologize about not posting pictures my Phone and Computer are not linking up for some reason. I need to figure out some more. As soon as I figure it out I ll give you all a update , promise! I am truly excited for this chapter in my journey , I truly can't wait to get going again !!! Cant Wait !!:p

So wanted to give you all a update finally , the sump showed up and here are some pictures to follow up . I still have a lot to post. In regulated to updating my build thread. But I need to be better ! The sump I went with is a Bashsea Mano sump Generation 2 Black /Red . I have to say that the acrylic work is amazing ! I am very impressed with them and so glad I followed my gut and and went with Bashsea for my sump and filtration choice , after all it is a main part of the system ! Hope you all like the pictures .

Ok next step from here was to add the modifications to my stand with some wood. Here we go , first step was to get a shelf in place . Shelf is going to be for the controller and the dosing pump . I ordered some brackets from Innovative Marine to slip in to the APS stand which allowed me to install the shelf .

I also added a smaller pieces of wood that I had left over from the scrap of the shelf and made a simple way to mount my BRS media reactor .

Next was I wanted a wooden shelf in my stand to support the sump . So using some simple 1/2 plywood and some 2x4’ this is what I created : super simple way that fits with in the APS stand but yet has some support for under the sump with the addition water volume and weight the sump will have.

Lastly was the larger modification I needed to do . I want to isolate all my electrical cables on the back side of the stand . I also wanted a small little display in the stand to show off the Vortech Drivers , Tunze ATO , Waveline controller box , and incorporated a tablet display some how . So this is what I did with 1/4” plywood and some more 2x4’s :

Sorry it did not attach the images I wanted so it’s a little repeat post :

Lastly was the larger modification I needed to do . I want to isolate all my electrical cables on the back side of the stand . I also wanted a small little display in the stand to show off the Vortech Drivers , Tunze ATO , Waveline controller box , and incorporated a tablet display some how . So this is what I did with 1/4” plywood and some more 2x4’s :
I had to sand down the 1/4” plywood to fit with in the channel of the APS vertical Support on my stand . That’s what I am showing in the 1st and 2nd images . Took some elbow grease but was able to get it to fit.

The last picture is all the 3 pieces of wood that I made to work with my stand . The Shelf , Sump Support , and lastly the Controller\ Display Board is what I’ll call it .

Sorry for the delayed post , needing to get you all up to date !! Lol I ll try and catch you all up soon ! So as soon as I got the wood prepared , it was ready for paint ! I decided to go with a Red for the shelf , to kinda go with the Sump theme . Then I painted the back panel Black to kinda blind in with the stand and had all the black cables lol .

Now that this was done ✅! It was off to start installing all the gear ! Cable management time . I did the best that I could in this little system , lot less space.

Due to me doing this updates on my phone I am limited it seems on the photo pics.
So here is a little more on how I managed 5 DC power bricks all Ecotech lol and found a way to make them disappear from inside the stand , as along with my 5.1 Powerbar and additional Tripplite power bars.

I’ll explain a little more , I found a way to mount all my DC PowerSuppiles to the upper support of my APS stand. I used Zipties to hold them in place that way if I need to remove them I just cut the zip tie , hope I don’t ever have to.

With them mounted and secured , I ran /directed all the cables toward the area behind the GHL P4 , here I drilled TWO 1in holes to help run all the wires to the power bars , and other cables that may need to connect to the P4 . Like the probes , and PAB cable. You can also see how I organized the locations of each power bar, which are mounted to the 2x4s or the plywood in the APS stand. I am trying to be clean on this build lol best that I can. Hope you all like this little update ;) 3C98EFED-A355-48A4-80DD-43F662D231DA.jpeg

Any updates on your build? We started our builds around the same time and I've yet to see water in this tank, lol.
