Emergency chevron tang!!

Geez, that por guy looks rough. How is his mouth? Is he eating? Mine had something happen to his mouth and it appeared to be stuck open and he just stopped eating and that was it, I lost him.

If flukes i could does the whole tank?

I agree - this came on too fast to be flukes. If this were flukes, the cloudy eyes and skin marks would have developed over days to weeks and you would see scratching.

Still, it’s tough to account for why you didn’t see any tankmate aggression.

I agree, antibiotics would be the best course of action. Monitor the ammonia level well in that hospital tank.

Maracyn will not heal this fish. May help with eyes and thats about it. Neoplex as stated is best bet.
Please explain. The literature is for the most part identical except Maracyn is Erythromycin.

This fish is mangled from aggression and requires a broad spectrum treatment

Maracyn is a Broad Spectrum Antibiotic.

Maracyn is a Broad Spectrum Antibiotic.

Maracyn is supposed to be broad spectrum, but in reality, it is most effective against gram positive bacteria. Most external bacteria in marine aquariums are gram negative. We often suggest its use in bulging eyes in fish because the presumption is that being internal, there is more of a chance that any bacteria involved are gram positive.

Got it. thanks. Thought it might work because the OP had that on hand already.
