encroaching Paly's ??

Hello, I have a huge colony of these plain looking paly's that are "quickly "taking up all the rockland.
Is there an "easy" way to trim this back a bit?
So I was gifted these paly's & was told they were zoas. they have recently spread like crazy. About 3 weeks ago I added a small frag of a red colored type. these are already encroaching on the frag disk .
Can I peroxide them or scrape, slash, stab, etc to trim this back a "little" at a time ? They took over real quick recently. I have a sorry pic for you. the red paly mentioned is to the far right. Oh I'm already dealing with the other algae issues you see. Thanks !

You can treat them like aiptaisia with kalk paste

Any chance that rock they're on can be removed? If so I would just chuck it and buy another rock. Trying to remove these things could be more trouble than their worth IMO.

You can lightly brush them to get them to close. Cut the mat of the palys with a sharp exacto knife and peel with tweezers. That's how we would frag from colonies on rocks.

Remember all those threads about paly toxin and
aerosolising it and hospital stays?

Honestly no sure how you would bleach it properly or whatever beyond throwing the rock away after you wrap it in newspaper and triple bag it.

Shoot (not what I wanted to say)

Just took a close up look at the picture.

If those are yellowish with brownish greenish edges, those look like the kind that gave an LFS employee a bad burning sensation and rash on his hand when he was taking out a bunch of rocks to catch some fish for me.
They also stunk far worse than any other when he set them in the container. The rock was about 6" by 4" with a good 4" diameter nest of palys.

I would be especially careful with that rock however you choose to handle it.

We have 5 or 6 different types of palys and I enjoy them all, but it is important to respect them.

Ok , I just applied some kalkwasser to a "few" of these paly's . I think I overdid it a bit . So we shall see if the kalkwasser left a space for the new ones to become established .

this was after about 30 mins pumps off.

I don't understand why there is a huge amount of red tape to own / distribute any venomous reptile but these palyzoas are totally cool to sell to whoever(children, angry spouses, etc) without so much as an age check or record of purchase.

Ojk Folks this is day two Looks like the kalkwasser did the trick ! Will be watching to see if they come back. I'll do a few more soon to open the space up a little more .

hello checking in after some time has passed. The paly's made a slow comeback but a 2nd shot of kalk paste. did the trick.
