There are plenty of SPS corals that prefer lower lighting. Some strains of Seriatopora prefer lower light, many Leptoseris species are found at very high depths and are sometimes the dominant reef building coral on mesophotic reefs, there are plenty of deeper water Acropora species, Pavona tend to prefer medium lighting, and I’m sure there are many other examples.If it can't handle high light, it's not SPS, I don't consider psammocora an SPS.
