I have a 50g 4ftx12in tank and I need equipment recommendations - ideally cheaper.
I have a light I used for a 20g tank that I will use multiple for the 50g but I need
Temper controller + heaters
Wave maker
ATO
Filtration
I’ve thought about a canister but I don’t know what to aim for since I’ve never used one before. I have also heard of using hang on back refugiums.

All recommendations for anything I’ve missed are welcome as well

Thank you

Maybe some of this will help.

INKBIRD 306a dual probe wifi is a super controller for about 50 bucks which allows for two heaters to be plugged in and comes with an App for your phone and automatic notifications.

I use standard digital heaters with cages to protect from breakage.

By using both the INKBIRD and a digital heater, I get more redundancy as if the INKBIRD was to fail, the digital heater settings would shutdown heat as well as the INKBIRD.

For wave makers I use all Jebao

ATO I use the Kramor which uses two optic sensors for redundancy plus I plug that into a multi timer which only allows power for 1 minute, every hour. This provides again, solid redundancy to protect from overflow.

For filtration I use an AquaClear 110 HOB and two sponges which are fast and simple to swap twice weekly so the filter does not become a “nitrate factory”

Also I use a Coralife 160 skimmer HOB.

All this stuff I get off Amazon at very inexpensive prices.

Use all this on a 60g.

Wave makers look at Jebao.
Ato-Tunze are what I use.
You can use this simple gravity fed ato to start. I use it on my 12g mantis tank.
I dose A4R through the 1 liter vottle to keep alk and ca stable.
For filtration use live rock to start the system with decent flow is all you need.
You can use a small hob like the one on my 12g, 20x12×12, to put floss, carbon ect, in. Seachem makes larger ones.
This little 12g has a Hygger for flow, another good powerhead, a Seachem 50 hob, Hygger heater comes with controller, and a Tunze skimmer.
Simple system that can be expanded to meet the larger systems needs.

For my other systems I run brs titainium heaters with aqualogic controllers.

The largest of 6 systems is my 150g.
