Give me a couple
This one and the IOAOI Coralland are the "active" tank threads. The Tenecore 5.6 is still running but in dark mode - more or less fallow until I get some work done around the house and I put a light over it and reboot it.

Turf Scrubber print started! This piece is 16 hours. The front and screen is another 9 hours after that.

2 hours left to go! It should be waiting when I get home this evening and then I'll print the front and screen overnight tonight.

The design is basically a box with an open front and bottom. Light sits on a bracket on top with a waterproof screen, front has the screen attached and slides in so the screen sits directly under the waterfall.

Ok, it should be done printing. Once the P1S gets here I'll be able to check the print periodically with the built in camera. Unfortunately this one has no camera.

I couldn't believe the difference having a camera made. I use to go into the printer room once an hour or so to make sure everything was okay, Now I just peek at the camera feed and go on about my day, a real quality of life improvement, that and the network connection to send the file instead of using an SD card. I can finish a design, open the slicer, slice it and send it then just check the camera once in a while. I think you will really like the differences from the Ender experience. I mainly bought the A1 because I needed the slightly larger bed over the Ender 3 S1 Pro I had but I think it was about two months after I got the A1, I gave the Ender to a guy at St. Vincent DePaul. Of course I didn't have the large bed like you do so I probably would have held onto a Max.

I'm keeping the Max but the P1S has a decent bed and will handle most of the prints I print.

I'll probably let the kids mess with the Max and I'll stick to the Bambu for my prints and my wife's prints.

I'd hold onto the Max as well. I found the S1 a little limiting as lot of designs that I would have used early on were designed for the Prusas, so just a little too large for the S1. With the A1 (same build plate as the X1C, P1S, etc.) I think I've had only one piece that I had to redesign to get around bed size limitations. Where the bigger size really seems to come into its own is for Cosplay as helmets and such are just a little too big for the 256mm beds. I don't see myself doing Cosplay anytime soon so, I'm good.

I don't cosplay. But those IOAOI kids are just over 11" .

As soon as I saw the lids I thought about that. There are definitely times where the larger bed will come in handy. It's nice you have the option. My biggest bed is still 256mm cubed.

I love my Bambu X1C! I haven't printed anything for my tank yet which is honestly kinda sad...but I also only have PLA and don't have a dryer to print PETG with.

Do you use exclusively PETG for your reef tank prints, or do you use PLA as well? I did ask for a dryer for Christmas this year, so maybe I'll get lucky :)

C'mon, Tom, where's your sense of adventure!

I was watching a video of an Asian guy from Europe on his Bambu. He had a 7+ foot sword he had printed. The thing was really cool. Plus, I don't think one needs to Cosplay to have a giant sword for, um, well, protection against intruders. I'll see if I can find the video.

FWIW - when I get up and running, who knows when this will be, I am going to print all things tank related in ABS. I have reasons for this which you will have to pay me to learn.

I don't have filtration / air management to deal with the ABS fumes otherwise I'd be more interested in printing with it. Nasty fumes but good material!

I only use PETG for in the tank stuff and for most around the tank stuff as it is more UV resistant and heat tolerant than PLA. I use PETG for probably 80 to 90 percent of everything I print.

While it is a little different from printing PLA it is not much harder and most systems have good filament presets today. Bambus can print PETG beautifully. PETG does need to be dried if it has been sitting out a long time but it does not need to be printed from a dry box. PLA also benefits from drying but you can use your X1C as a dyer for most non-engineering filaments. Just search for X1C filament dryer and you should get some hits on how to do it.

ABS does not fair well with UV (tends to warp), check out ASA.
