ESHOPPS Mariner 70 Build

Well, headed back to civilization to experience the fall colors as our freeways slow down and the license plates change colors.

We saw 0 deer tonight. My brother-in-law is giving up and planning on a December archery deer instead.

Welcome to the Hydros Club! That's a great starter pack. My Hysros is still sitting in a box. :-(

So I'm home from the great outdoors (aka desert). My wife texted last night and said there was some moisture around the tank. Also the level in the sump was dropping so...

Took a while but I chased down the culprit - Plank was overflowing.

ATO got salinity down to 1.024 so not too bad. Mixing up some fresh salt water to top off the low sump and try to bring the salinity back up a little. Went through 10 gallons in 6 days including normal evaporation. Still annoying.

Mine should be here Saturday according to the tracking number. Looking forward to it!

I think I'm going to build some sort of controller "cabinet" similar to what you have planned for yours.

Feeder tube clogged? :grimacing-face:
No, that's what's weird. It seems like the pump sped up. I turned it down to minimum flow and it still seems to be running high level. Cleaned the discharge tube and it's still up a little bit. We'll see.

Wait, it wasn't a typo?

Took me a min to realize he meant ATO, not the Plank. My mind was racing. "What about MY Plank!? What if I get to work and it's flooded the tank!?"
No, it's the Plank. It was running over and the ATO was trying to keep up.

Yeah, I forget how long mines been running but it's been several months now.

I've had my Plank overflowing the top a bit but only when we have a little extra algea growth in the tube..

Been running my pump 24/7 here for a few months now, low algae currently and no issues with overflow lately... :thinking-face:
This. This is what happened to me w/ the old tank.

This time we printed a very similar cover to what they sell to block it from light. Hopefully it helps.

Wait, I thought Plank was an autofeeder... I'm confused.
The Plank is an autofeeder that uses a water pump to rehydrate dehydrated food. When the feeding port gets plugged with algae or excess food the water flows up and over. Most of it ended up in the tank but some went over the edge.

I'm thinking with my LA store credit I may buy a Hydros leak rope when I comes back in stock.

You have two sense ports, right? I got a Hydros specifically for the leak rope, obviously also for all the other perks, but ability to turn everything off if there's a leak was priority. Also got a magnetic float sensor so if the sump looks like it's overflowing to turn off everything.

Yep!

Ok, so I think I'm going to tear the Plank down and scrub it really good, then run it in a Citric acid soak. I have it on the minimum setting, raised the feed tube up almost an inch, and it's still only running about 3/16" below the rim of the tube. That's almost an inch and a half above the water level in my tank. On the lowest setting...

live in the desert. I was literally picking cactus out of my deer last night. Kept getting jabbed trying to clean it in the dark.
Lived in AZ for a couple years back in the 80’s my male dog lifted his leg next to a teddy bear cactus I think it was called… that required a vet visit.

Congratulations. How is it you are always winning stuff :face-with-tears-of-joy:
