Ok, changed the charcoal and added the remainder of my Phosguard.

Hey guys and gals! Guess what?

I did a water change yesterday!

Also tested calcium - 380

Tested Magnesium - 1095

Tested Alk again - 5.7

I dosed some magnesium, dosed some alkalinity.

I'll check alkalinity this afternoon/evening and dose some more. I'll check again in a couple of days and make sure we're holding steady and adjust the dosing as necessary.

I think I'm going to likely take out the main Birdsnest this week - I'm fairly certain it's a alkalinity/calcium/magnesium sink and it's way too big for my tank.

Not yet. Was looking yesterday and definitely gave it the stink eye.

Unfortunately I've never had good luck with Leathers. Weeping Willows are pretty cool though with their long, slowly tentacles.

They had them with the torches, I had to do a double take, never seen one with this long of tentacles. They had quite a few new torches as well.

I was going to hit Ocean Floor this weekend but didn't have a chance.

I was down in Tucson Wednesday through Friday for a conference and had considered looking up Shark's Reef and checking them out but unfortunately I didn't have much opportunity to get out and about.

I haven't been to Aquaholics in a month or 2. I should probably stop by.

Do it and give a leather another shot!

I almost bought a UNS tank at ocean floor…might get a Mariner instead. Still deciding.

The UNS natural wood stand is, I think, the prettiest tank stand I've ever seen. I almost bought a small UNS tank a few years ago, before they had their reef line. I spent over an hour looking at all of them at Ocean Floor two weeks ago. I don't think you can go wrong with a UNS or a Mariner. They are both very high-quality tanks.
