I don't think $ 40 is too bad for (3) fish compared to what others may charge. I have never ordered fish from them so I don't know if there is a box charge as well.

Shipping prices vary from vendor to vendor. it all depends on distance, shipping company, box charge, prep charge & anything else they feel is needed whether it is or not. I don't buy from anyone that charges more then $45.

thats my new standard as well. $45 or less...

My zip code came out to $39 and some change
Mine's usually $29-39.

Edit: Also meant to add I usually try to figure out a way to get free shipping by ordering a little something extra on occasion.
