Everything I need?

I plan on getting a 32 gallon bio cube saltwater tank. I already have a 10 gallon freshwater but I know there are more things that I need to keep a saltwater tank healthy and running well. What are everything I need? I know about protein skimmers and RODI machines but I dont really know what they do. What is everything I need for a tank? I dont want to have a tank where everything dies because of me not having the correct equipment.
