That would certainly be the easiest and cheapest.

Perhaps my understanding of precision and accuracy is incorrect. Precision in terms of significant figures was not what I was referring to. If I measure my alkalinity at 143 ppm and send the same sample to a lab and they tell me it's actually 157 ppm, I'm okay with that (as an aquarium hobbyist using a ~$200 tool) as long as I can expect that error every time I use.

I was joking. I understood what you meant. Just scientist humor. :D

FWIW, however, precision is the number of significant figures.

Hi Christian ,
How would I go about ordering one for the MACNA price? Do I call you directly or email you directly? I will PM this too in case.
Well, no reply...guess I am out of luck on the MACNA price and makes me concerned about support....

My LFS just told me they are going to be getting these in. Full kit and individual tests. So tired of trying to read colors with Red Sea Pro Alk and their non consistent colors.

Ok just finish running some test so far I like it very easy testing take about 30sec total.
Salifert alk was 6.7 (low guess corals are using it up raised the dose)
Salifert cal 470

Idip alk 113ppm
Idip cal 481
I did not get a mag reading after I did these test so will contact them on Monday about that. But so far I'm loving it will run some other test before water change tomorrow.

If you didn't get a reading because of an error message on the iDip, close and re-open the app. I get communication errors and app crashes every now and then.

I did that many times still no mag. And there's no mag app to buy.

Do they tell you the upper limit that it can detect? Maybe you are above it.

Randy all it did was give me different ways of readying my alk and cal alk has to be converted to dkh. Will try again later on when I try the po4 and no3 test.

Seems more or less promising so far. I've got one of these on the way, too and will hopefully be able to run it against my Hanna checkers and red sea/salifert kits.
