Man I love the halide look. I had a 120g with them and loved it. Didn't get the best part and never really played with getting more before breaking it all down but I'm going to be looking for a gieseemann fixture now for my cube build. You see any 36" fixture let me know please. Going back now to read up on this thread to learn more about running a sps system.

Its doing well. I have 3 nems in this system. Time to remove 2.

I got down to one nice LT in my 35, nem system, there were 9. It just split the other night again, now I have 8 again.
I remember in the 90's I had these green bubbletips. They just grew large like dinner plate size and never split while stretching out a foot or more from their base.

I've got another pair of lumatek ballast .
And another pair of magnetic ballast.
44 MH 400w bulbs.
I believe that's will good supply for the next 30 years .

What are the cubes dimensions?
I wish I would have kept all my old halide gear.
This is a 20" hamilton running a 600 watt 7k and a link to my old 120 running halides.

Got today th HQI ballasts from giessmann...
Well , they are HEAVY and feels that made to last for many years.

I pulled this from the back of the 150 a month ago. It looks good under the halide at around 200 par right up front.

This system runs on kalk only.
Kamoer running at 1.5mlm currently keeps alk at 7.5.
You can see the drip into the oveflow in the above pic.

I have a few of these HPS bulbs. They are Phillips retrowhite, they are white compaired to the standard HPS yellowish bulb.
What do ya think?
They advertise it as a 2K with blue.

I got my last shipment...I have stock of MH 400w bulbs for the next 25 years.
most of the giessmann megachrome 14,500 and 20,000k and others are Aqua bright solutions 10,000k
Some of them are still wrapped with their nylons

Nice! I have another S51 im going to modify with the different ignitor. The S51 with the HPS was at 449 watts on my meter today.
Also note: I went back to the Ushio 20K. Although less par it has the look I like currently with the edge bars at 50%.

Cant wait to see that fixture!
It will be interesting to see how many watts those hqi's put out vs the others.

My GHL power bar have the ability to measure howany watts each ballast will consume.

I opened one of the ballasts , it's 220v at 50 Hz.
