The gear of the magnetic ballast that I bought was disassembled , and replaced with the new M58 kit.
It's working great .

I got my M58 ballast kit.
It's been installed and assembled in this moment...
I made compression between electronic and magnetic ballasts....the magnetic have much more vibrant colour, to my eyes.

Interesting note about color vs the 2 ballasts. Once I get the tank up I will compare the two also.

I cut a couple pieces of 8020 yesterday and came up with this for the LumenBrite Reflector.
Should work well and give me all the par I need based on the air tests.

I bought 2 of these "new in box" coralife 150 watt units.
One of the de was fried on one fixture and the bulb was broke on the other. I was refunded for both and they did not want them back.
I still had a cheap $10 20k to test it.
It has been on for a few hours.
Would be cool on a nano.

I have a new guy to reefing ? Don't you need to have blue light and red light also for the corals ?

MH lamps are considered full spectrum. Nothing else needed.
My old 120 on MH.

With all of your testing as well as general MH knowledge, would you have a rough guess on what I may be seeing Par wise out of a 2 bulb 250w DE reefbrite fixture? I believe I’m 10” above waterline tank is 16” deep I’m using aquabrites 14k bulbs

No idea what par would be.
When I ran de 250 in LB reflectors I never checked but acros grew on the bottom. MH is 14" off the surface.

You tested lumenbrights against reefbrites recently right? They were like 4-5x the par?

Around 2x
400 watt Radium.
Digital balast
Reefbrite 192

Digital balast
Lumenbrite 449

IMO there has never been a better bulb than a Phoenix, second being Radium. I have a 250 with MH fixture and ballast, Hamilton. I will probably never use them again.🙁

System is at the California warehouse so it should be here soon.
Still need:

Aqualogic controller
300 Watt brs heater
2 ADJ 100amp 8 outlet strips
Tunze ato
Ato reservoir
Kalk reservoir
Power supply for a Kamoer
FX-XTP for kalk.

Once the Stand is up I can measure and order 8020 that will be attatched to the stand to support the light system.
