Anyone have tips/tricks for trying to de-stress?
Without going into too much detail-work and home life are super stressful and it’s really the first time I can’t find a way to deal with the stress. Usually I just dive back into hobbies or find some fun diy project but that’s not cutting it. I’ve been sleeping a lot and just binging on fb videos every night after work.
im sure people have some handy tips or tricks to help-so what do you guys do to reduce stress?
Depression/stress/unhappiness is very complicated and based on the individual. So maybe we can give your more accurate advice if you would feel comfortable scoring the following (1-10) without giving specifics:
1. work-5 (normally a 9-10 but COVID has been awful for moral and I’m the one dealing with employees unhappiness. Probably doesn’t help being an empathetic personality
2. home-5 (bf drama and his **** decisions leading to trust issues)
3. financial-7 (I’m not missing bills but I can’t save any right now)
3. personal relationships-2 (all my friends have moved away and are busy with their own relationships)
4. mental health-4 (I think this is the “problem child” at the moment)
5. physical health-2 (I’m so out of shape and smoking doesn’t help I’m sure)

Ha you caught me out. :) Thanks for sharing.oh you’re a science guy aren’t you! Lol I like science peeps
Don't self medicate - no weed, no alcohol. It just makes it worse.
I research self improvement. Why am I feeling this way. Is it what I eat? Whats in my water? The medicine I take or supplements? And I feel better each day. The aquarist hobby has really taught me alot about my body. And since I've been supplementing with vitamins and getting blood work tests to see what I'm deficient in has really improved everything for me. I even started dechlorinating my water for baths and my hair and skin have improved drastically.Anyone have tips/tricks for trying to de-stress?

Yea I’m not into that anyway lolThis.
I’ll try to get one of those. I like the “growing” aspect of things. Corals, plants, etc. I get them tiny and I give them the perfect environment to thrive and make me babies lol this is the current monster putting off babies.Ha you caught me out. :) Thanks for sharing.
In that case I'd certainly suggest gardening and walks (do you have a dog?), both will help with your mental and physical health to reduce stress.
As for friendships, the same happened to me and my wife. It didn't really bother me as I am quite introverted, but it upset my wife as she is more social. Friends gradually drifted away or started their own families so had less time to share, and if I am honest, we did the same when we started having kids as priorities change. It's unfortunate but a pattern of life.
It's also a harder one to solve during these times as options are limited. Are you able to join any meet up groups? Which State do you live in and how strict are the lockdown rules?
What do you mean by problem child?

p.s. on your window ledge in your sewing room, add a potted lavender plant. Nice purple/blue flowers and the scent is a relaxant.

I do what I am going to do right now. Take a walk on a beach early in the morning when no one is there and watch the sunrise.
If I were not near a beach I would go someplace else and watch the sunrise.
To just reduce stress I like to go walk... there’s trails near my subdivision with a creek running through one... I walk the whole thing barefoot. I know it might sound hippy-ish but it really slows me down and being able to feel the mud, grass, leaves, and sand on my feet is the most human thing ever. The whole time I just observe, there’s so much to take in I forget about my troubles.Anyone have tips/tricks for trying to de-stress?

But... but... that stuff is so much better with MJ! I dont drink and been smoking a loooong time. I do believe that alcohol will make most things worse but not old Mary.Don't self medicate - no weed, no alcohol. It just makes it worse.
Unplug from all things digital.
Get in nature, have a bonfire with family or friends if you can and eat bad - smores, hotdogs, chicken wings!.
