I have sponge bobs house in my 6g with my mantis and a yellow tail damsel live in it ! Actually did it as a joke for my gramd daughter but now they are like never coming out.
They poke their heads out of the windows to see who's around.
Oh and a filefish who just loves corals so he got banished to here from the 120

I'd trim the fake plant parts off and mount some sun corals or others on there , I have one of the tetrahedron balls and a skull in my tank.

Question is to put live sand in or not....? Sand would definitely increase surface area for filtration. May be hard to clean the sand between the trees which is where things will settle for sure. Probably need the sand for surface area.

Yeah looks cool, would personally add some rocks at base of them stumps and make few caves for fish to hide in amd sleeping quarters etc and if want to cut the green plastic off in future and add some gsp glued to a round rock and epoxy in its place will pretty much look the same but will have added benifit the coral gives and no risk of saltwater eroding tje paint etc but looks cool and if you like it then all that matters ^_^

If it was me I would put some sand find some cave rocks or something.
Fish really REALLY need someplace to go and chill out small ones and big ones all the same have their spots to feel safe.
Maybe turn the trees to the right side on a angle and then on the left have some rock formations.
Idk just throwing it out there.
Looks like you have a sump ? LR really is the filter of the tank along with sand
Like I said idk I like the trees but you need some LR for various reasons imo

I really liked look of nsa aquascapes but was worried that fish feel safer when can hide in caves at night or through day if something spooked them ,so I decided to do 50 / 50 so to speak and add caves and basically rabbit runs through the rocks but still glued overhangs and swim throughs and the like as knew it be a while before rocks full of corals and didnt want stress my fish out .as even know at 8 months old tank I only got like 8 corals as taking it slow

As for the detritus issues I'd just point a power head down near the bottom to help push the water around , a good clean up crew will take care of the rest.
