Alright so my beach bum is looking awesome and after seeing your montis I want to get others.

How different is the Kung pow and the beach bum?

Granted this is an actinic picture but the middle right is the WWC Kung Pao and the bottom right is the beach bum.

The polyp color was really the main difference a couple months ago but now...

The Kung Pap has taken on more of a yellowish/orange color and looks a lot different.

I'll try to take some good white light photos this weekend for you to see the difference and judge for yourself.

I just run reactors and skim... No water changes.

GFO reactor, carbon reactor, biopellet reactor, and calcium reactor.

Yeah, it's hitting it's stride in my tank. I probably need to trim mine anyways... Its growing off the frag disc. I'll get you a frag if you want bud.

Man how I want SPS colonies again. Lost all mine to alk burn almost 2 years ago. I have added frags, just to have them die. Keeping things stable, don't know.

Have you tried sending off a sample of water for ICP testing? Have a build thread I can contribute to with helping troubleshoot?

It's actually my favorite of the bunch, which ironic because it was the 2nd cheapest. I forgot to snap a picture if the JF Altered Ego. I'll have to do it next time the camera comes out.

I had an ICP test done back in March. Nothing was out of line. The frags that died usually starts with a white tip that turns brown. I have a bonsai colony from another tank that does the same thing. But only on a few tips. Justsome of the branch turns brown. I did cut a couple of frsgs from it. And they are doing good. Encrusting. My alk is 9.2, nitrates at 10. Trying keep alk around 8.

Seems you may be on the mend! That's great! A lower alk like you said would probably be beneficial just in case its alk burn you're seeing.
