It’s about 3” off the sandbed... and the tank is 28” deep if you remember what it looked like when you were able to come into town that one event. It seems pretty happy. Purple tips forming well on it and growth doesn’t seem affected. It’s getting roughly 250-275 par there.
Thank you! I love that thing. It’ll get washed out in a bluer tank but for those that still run a fuller spectrum... it’s a beauty!

Wait, when did you sneak a piece? I’ve been vigilant!
Long before you let the tank of the month badge get to your head

Is there any reason you prefer biopellets over something like vinegar or vodka?
I’ve actually taken my biopellets offline a couple months ago after 7 years of use. I’m going back to my roots... chaeto.

I preferred biopellets because they were low maintenance, all the interaction happened within a confined reactor, and the output could be plumbed to my skimmer. Once set, I could walk away for 6 months and just refill it.

Stumbled upon this while looking for some Flaming Phoenix. Was looking to get a nice montipora collection since I am making the switch to primarily SPS but I gotta say Love your tank!!! I am planing on upgrading from a 90 gallon to 150 within a few months. Definitely looking to make more reefing friends. Just recently hit my 1 year reefing anniversary.

Congrats! Upgrading tanks is always fun! Thanks for tuning in!

This is a beautiful tank sir.

May I ask about your current lighting setup? I saw way back I think T5 plus MH, but toying with LED so just curious.

I run 8 X 80 T5 but my SPS tank is much smaller than yours. (whimper, whimper)

Thank you!

ATI 8-bulb T5 with SBreef actinic bars on the display. Crisp 12k-14k... sand actually is white.

Frag tanks all run aquaticlife hybrid fixtures with Radions and 2b+ and 2actinic bulbs.

Thanks for sharing. Too funny... I run the same on my display, and the same hybrid setup over frag systems (although Hydra LEDs).

And I have very fond teenage memories of Round Rock, TX back in the day.

Great tank! And even better lighting choices!

I live in way north Austin... so basically can throw a rock into RR.
