I’ve kept and killed my fair share of LPS. RIP trachy. I saw a cheap 2 head trumpet at my LFS for really cheap. Never was really a fan but liked the neon green color. So I got it. Share your pics and/or experience with LPS.

Aw thank you! I’m not 100% happy with my scape just yet. I have a few more large rocks cycling that I want to use as a base to raise everything up a bit , thanks though!
Nice growth!
Thanks! I wish I had the foresight to have gotten more than one type of acan, definitely my favorite coral. I like the elevated approach too :)

I honestly have no secrets. I think they’re just a really fast growing coral. As with anything, I aim for stability. I keep PO4 and NO3 in the higher range.

Mine have grown too close and are smushed. Have you noticed they pick up the zoox from each other?

The inner polyp of my toxic acan is now orange.

Nice. I haven’t noticed that yet but I’ll keep an eye out.

Has your tank got alot of flow? Mine doesn't get that puffy, I think I have too much flow/ too low of phosphates and nitrates. Could you tell me your levels please.
My hammer gets very little flow, a lot of light (it’s high in my tank and I have a metal halide) and I feed a lot.

my phosphates and nitrates are very low, <5 nitrates and .03 phosphates. Dkh 7.5-8 and 430ish Ca

Thanks for this, I think it's a flow issue on mine. My all is a little higher, also phosphates are lower as I bottomed them out and have been dosing to raise them.

That's REALLY BEAUTIFUL!!! What an amazing amount of growth!!!
I bought a frag of stylophora about 4 months ago...it had been doing well. But went out of town for 3 days this past weekend and I think someone in the tank got hungry and ate it (although the auto feeder was/is working)
There are a few polyps left in certain sections...do you think it'll regenerate itself eventually?? Or is it toast?

WOWSA!!!
That's amazing...so beautiful with all those varied colors!!! I dream of have a scape like that one day!
I have one and it's doing pretty well...I think it's still adjusting to my new lighting though (Sept '19), hasn't added new heads in 4 months. But I'm hopeful once it adjusts it'll take off!

No problem! You can also try dosing some amino acids and/or feeding your tank

Torch, hammer, and frogspawn grow pretty quickly. Acan bowers put on new heads quickly but those new heads take a long time to mature to be able to put out new heads. Certain chalices grow fast. Watermelon chalice grows fast in my tank while rainbow chalice grows at a snails pace. Blasto merletti grew fast in my last tank( I don't have any now), blasto welsi seem slow in this tank.

I'm dosing acro power, potassium phosphate and nitrate to try and raise levels to 5-10 nitrate and 0.08 -0.1 phosphates. I'm raising slowly so I dont stress things the other way and kill them. I had good growth just over a year ago then got cyano then dino, it's just been such a long battle.

I've tried Acans twice, they just shrink up and die on me. Once I'm back on track I'm gonna try again I like the colours you can get.

Wow!! Well I feel honored you would want to know anything at all about my tank, that hammer is beautiful! Was it always a hybrid or did you pull off some wizardry?

Thanks for the wow, no what i have are a couple frags of other colour hammers, there is a yellow (ish) one and an ultra green, the main (normal) green I have in there has lots of heads, which were all green but over the years some green has gone and is more of a mottled broken green. I was asking you about yours as it looks a lot puffier than mine and growth seems faster. Put it this way I never in 14 or so years of having a reef tank tested for phosphates until last year when I started having sps issues. So the balance of no3 to po4 is fairly very new to me. The one in red is the original type I have had, yellow is the yellow ish one that is alot slower growing and have had for about 4 years, it hasn't grown hardly at all. Maybe a couple of heads split, purple is the ultra green and white is frogspawn that I have now lost 2 heads of and I have put 1 in another lower flow tank to try and save it.
