With the recent ban on TikTok, of which I was not a user but I was a user of CapCut, which is a video editing app that was somehow linked, it would be interesting to see if more people used it or if you used something different that you could recommend.

If I'm not mistaken, TikTok got a 30-day temporary pause on the ban. You should still be able to use it!

We've been crying about it at work too. Maybe Splice?

I used CapCut for quick edits on my phone, but once it got removed, I switched to using desktop software more often. I ended up testing a few options and settled on Movavi. It’s super beginner-friendly but also has deeper functions when you want to play around with transitions, effects, or audio syncing. I like that it doesn't lag or crash, especially when rendering longer videos.

For file format issues while editing, I’ve had to convert .au audio files a couple of times. I just used this AU converter to cleanly change them to formats that worked better with my setup. The one I used you can see on https://www.movavi.com/audio-converter/au-converter.html
Thank you, I'm going to try it even though Capcut is back but I don't know for how long, I'm going to try Movavi in the next few days.

Just tried out a solid alternative to the usual mobile editors—if you’re on the hunt for something fresh after the ban, check out All Video Downloader. I found it surprisingly clean and easy to use: it handles imports smoothly, gives basic trim/cut controls, and exports fast without weird watermarks. Might not be full-feature like some pro apps, but for quick edits it’s been a great backup for me.
I’ve used Movavi for a while, and it’s honestly a solid choice for quick, polished edits. The interface is super intuitive — you can drop in clips, add transitions, and color-correct without needing pro-level skills. It’s not as advanced as Premiere, but for YouTube or casual projects, it gets the job done fast.

You've got plenty of options. Lets omit Premiere Pro here since even though it's professional software and can definitely be used to produce better quality videos than any competitor, it costs a good bit.

The first that comes to mind is Premiere Pro Rush which you can use on your phone and costs almost nothing...what are you editing for is the question...how close to professional quality does it need to be? Do you need high quality for whatever you're using the videos for?

Nothing professional, it's just the app I feel most comfortable with, it's just to edit some videos and then put them on YouTube to be able to put them here on the site, but in the end they put it back

Try Premiere Pro Rush...it'll do what you need and is simple.

You missed it by under a month
