Feather dusters taking over

Anybody know of what could get rid of small feather dusters. I have a 10 gallon and about a month ago they just started popping up here and there and now they are everywhere. Growing in between zoanthids and all over everything. They r ugly little *****.lol is there a cure? Way too many to just pick off. HELP please!!!

Thanks!!! I never thought of using a fish. Hahaa. Im mainly a coral fan havnt really got into the fish yet. Is there a certain wrasse that u think wld do the job?

There are many natural predators like shrimp, crabs, fish that will do the job for you. Each has advantages and disadvantages. Study them and see which fits your tank the best.
For example A six line wrasse would help but is an agreesive fish.

Copper band butterfly or arrow crab peppermint shrimp eat them but once there gone need keep copper band feed copperband will eat aptasia to but shrimp n crabs lot cheaper and clean up other stuff to .

I will post a pic in a sec. We have 3 chromis', 1 mandarin, and 1 lawnmower blenny. Other than that its just corals snails and hermits. Oh and one cleaner shrimp

Ok. I have seen people trying to get rid of feather dusters before in reality they had hydroids.

Those appear to be dusters.

You could just start snapping them off. I believe that kills them I'd you go low enough.

Yes definitely dusters. And not pretty ones.lol. ive dealt with hydroids before. Only two of them and then they just disappeared.but these.... i cant seem to get rid of

Ive tried picking them off before but that seemed like it made them pop up more. And now theres just too many of them.

If you don't get the worm they'll just grow back. Need to be removed at the base. Excess nutrients (plankton) keep them very healthy.
Do you have any inverts? Urchins, Serpent Stars and Coral Banded Shrimp may prey on them.

I haven't tried it but I just thought that maybe you can use some super glue or epoxy to keep them from coming out?

No i dont have any of those shrimp urchins or the stars. . I have tried the glue but the whole tank wld b covered with glue if i kept doing it. Lol. I dont know where all of them r coming from. What do yall think about the six line wrass somebody else suggested? Will he be ok in the 10 gal?

Well from the looks of it you're having an organic problem. It's probably because you're overstocked 3x-4x. Unless you get rid of most of your fish they are going to keep growing.
