I've had personal experience with an arrow crab plucking feather dusters out of the live rock. It's why I wouldn't have one. I'm always trying to get the small dusters to grow and multiply. Free water filtering. It can really be challenging to have a successful tank as small as ten gallons but your's seems to be succeeding. I wouldn't worry too much about the dusters, they are a natural part of the reef.

OMG! I had some Omega 1 pellets and just tried it. The Mandarin started eating them IMMEDIATELY! Thank you so much! Between these pellets and the pod feeder, my Mandarin will plump up!!

Yayyy!! Thats great cristy! I dont know what it is about those certain pellets but he loves em. Yes the small tank was difficult at first. But once we got use to doing regular water changes we havnt had any issues really.

Its from high nutrients. I just went through the same thing..
They are not caused by high nutrients. Extra food in the water column? Likely. These grow in my office reef linked above and in many systems I care for and "nutrients" are kept low: NO3 < 10ppm, PO4 ~ 0-1ppm.
