Welcome to the Reef2Reef POTM Contest - Photo of the Month

Sponsored by Avast Marine!

This month's subject - LPS Colony

Deadline to Enter: 5 March 2025 at 11:59 pm (EST)
Looking forward to great shots of your LPS colonies! Remember, the photo has to have been taken by you, and the subject has to be in your aquarium.
No watermarks or captions are allowed in the pictures and pictures with watermarks will be disqualified.
A bit of info around your shot, coral ID, how long you had it, what lighting and flow its under .... would be great to add context to your post

This is a photo contest after all and we're looking for the best photograph. Yes, you can use a post-editing product to better your pictures. In fact, we encourage it.
Few tips:
as usual clean glass, make sure not to feed or stir detritus in the tank few hours before the shoot,
shooting at a period of the time where light colors and intensity is appropriate for your specific shot, you can always tweak your lights as well during the shoot.
experiment with different angles, shooting with or without flow for maybe swaying motion look or perhaps no flow for sharper shots...
experiment with ISO aperture and shutter speed to achieve effect you want.
maybe include fish or other dynamic subjects in the shot for more dynamics...

As always refer to the multiple photography articles or post any questions you might have on the photography forum for better support. Maybe also post a few pictures for suggestions and critique to improve your shots wile preparing for this months contest as well.

Coral ID: Duncanopsammia axifuga
I bought this as a single polyp frag as my first coral in June 2023. It's currently being lit up by Smatfarm G6 140w LEDs and gets ~200par. It's being tossed around by (2) AI Nero 3's on random (Min. 30%, Max. 65%, High Variance).
Nothing special, but special to me.

clown taco time!!!
FullSizeRender.jpeg

it is under a smatfarm g3 light, I am not entirely sure what the par is. the flow is from a 250 gph power head and a 300 power head, both no names. I have had this Duncan for about a year and a half.
Clown taco is a winning strategy!
