Manny eating frozen brine in his "Mandarin Diner."

***Mandarins usually only eat copeopods. They can actually starve to death if not fed enough. You must spend some time preparing them to eat other things. My tank also has a lot of pods in my refugium. I started him off in a breeder in a 10 gallon. You have to "train" them to eat frozen or prepared food. Eye dropper or syringe squirting food in front of them. Once they start eating it on their own. You can introduce a jar. I used a glass spice jar. The jar opening must be large enough for him to get inside, and small enough to keep larger fish out. Mandarins are slow eaters. This gives them plenty of time to eat without the larger fish gobbling up the food. He also eats Sustainable Aquatics Hatchery diet pellets.
