Makes perfect sense - a master/apprentice approach. For me it’s been forums, and more recently ChatGPT which is great for a lot of information, but can’t blindly follow as stated earlier. Definitely not as much fun as having a live person in the room to bounce things off and share an adult beverage with. My wife will only do so much. My daughter who wants to be a marine biologist has very little interest so don’t know what to make of that (roll eyes).
As you already know Chatgpt is a great tool just dont believe everything it tells you. You have to crosscheck anything it tells you. Cant remember if it was this thread or another but I use it to help build fictional worlds and characters and scenarios, dont care how accurate it is with that lol, just that it may have a different spin on my ideas I like better. My ex and her 150+ IQ couldn't have cared less about this hobby, she thought it was "neat" for a while but was in her way. She could have helped with a lot of the biology and chemistry questions with her bachelors in bioscience and the masters she was working on in the early days. Its very nice to have a mentor or even just a buddy even if they just come over or you go there to share an AB and talk reef stuff.
