First, I am not a clam expert at all.
I've had this clam, and another Maxima in my system for several years. Just about a month ago, I moved my Crocea to clean my bare bottom SPS dominated system. I haven't move in over a year. I damaged the byssus gate (some people call it the foot). The clam has not re attached itself since then and the mantel has been retracted. See the pictures, taken today.
There is some brown fleshy trash connected to the byssus.
I'm thinking this clam is on it's way out, dieing. It's been this way for a couple weeks.
I didn't see any evidence of snails. My Alk is at 8.5dkh, Ca is at 500, Mag 1,350, salinity is 1.026. I have two Orphek LED light fixtures, lot's of good light.
Are their any suggested dipping methods, cleaning methods or put the clam in the trash can?
Many thanks

If the foot was completely lost, it will most likely die. Sorry. If foot just damaged, then hard to know. Just my experience.
