Hi. I am brand new to the hobby and (almost) brand new to Reef2Reef. I purchased my first-ever saltwater fish today….actually three fish: 2 Clowns, 1 Yellow Watchman Goby.

A little background. I purchased a Red Sea REEFER MAX 425 G2+ in February. It came with just about everything I needed. It took me a week to get everything put together….and then another week to put together my aqua scape. I started my cycle in early March and completed it today (April 5). And as I said above I purchased and added my first few fish today.

Only regret thus far is I used fine sand and it tends to get moved around a bit by the power heads.

The owner of the LFS here is Houston where I purchased the tank has been a tremendous help. I can’t say enough good things about him and his shop (Ocean Life).

If there is anyone out there who lives in Houston and would like to provide me with a bit of mentorship over the next 12 months or so please let me know.

Here’s a picture of the display tank and sump as of today…..
