Can someone help me decipher my first icp test? I see a lot of red and I'm a little overwhelmed. Going to start doing larger water changes from now on

Oof! yes large water changes will help you get back into balance.also try to pin point where those high numbers like zinc is coming from. I usually google things like “high zinc in reef”
Polyfilter will help remove some unwanted metals and running activated carbon can also help absorb some unwanted elements. Becareful to not overuse these things. Typically I like to add them to my filter sock for a night at a time or for a week at a time so that I don’t shock my system in anyway.

I have zinc in my rodi water. I've left a pump in my rodi to fill jugs but it seems like it leeches zinc, unless its getting through the filter.

How old are your filters. Do you have a deionizer filter on it? You should be getting 0tds on your ro/di water

I just replaced the color changing resin recently. I do watch the tds meter when I first start making water and its usually 0 or 1 tds

1 is not good even at 0 TDS it doesn't mean that pollutants are not
passing by. Best thing to do is get quality RO filters like Spectrapure Max Cap And Silica Buster

While that is true, I’ve yet to see anyone actually have a problem that could be attributed to ro/di at 0-1 ppm tds. Even co2 from that air can bump tds up a bit.

Yeah but He is seeing Zinc in his RODI, which is adding to his tank Zinc parameters that are high

The ro/di itself sounds like it is not the source, but rather his pump. In any case, he posted no value so it’s not possible to judge if it is a significant contributor or not.

In general, I do not believe that 0-1 ppm tds from an ro/di thst started with potable water is ever a problematic source of anything.

I wonder how high his Zinc in RO water results are as he only posted the tank water zinc to get were its really coming from

Have you been dosing magnesium? If so, definitely stop.
Mg dosing and tropic marine trace element is stopped until further notice. Need to buy a hanna mg tester the titration method is hard. The high mg explains why my snails arnt happy

I don’t believe that can be from water exiting the ro/di if the tds is 0-1 ppm.
I've removed the pump and I mixed a bunch of salt water for my fish qt tank with it. Making a new big batch of rodi. I've only been replacing di resin last time I replaced them. Should I be doing all 3 filter cartridges every time?

The di is the most important to replace as needed. The sediment cartridge is replaced when it clogs and flow reduces. Carbon cartridge replace based on volume through it or just every so often.

Would toxins from leather coral and zoas show up on an icp test?
