I got my first fish a few days ago, a Pink Spotted Goby. I was very excited and he ate the very first day. Now, I haven't seen him since. I have a tight fitting lid, and haven't found him laying around or under the tank. Is this normal behavior, should in expect to see him soon?

Gobies can be reclusive. I've had a yellow watchman that I thought died reappear a year later in my 180 reef!

^Yup, without a pistol shrimp, or even other fish in the tank, it will hide under the rocks much more.

Mine actually found a pistol shrimp that was a hitchhiker and created a "den" with it in the back of the tank which is why I did not see him! I heard the pistol occasionally but I never added it, he came in with my rock apparently!

You may also see it more once you add another fish. When there are no other fish swimming around in the wild it is a cue to hide.
