First Hole what do you all think?

All,

So I finally gathered the courage to drill my first hole (Hip Hip Hooray). For the most part I think its looks good but would like your opinions as well. The only think that concerns me is in the picture if you look at the edge of the hole looks to be tiny chips. Is this normal or did I press to hard on the drill. Total drill time I would say was roughly 10-15 minutes. I went ahead and attached the picture.

I would recomend sanding down the rough edges

Thanks for the feed back guys. I was worried for a minute that those marks would cause a issue with the seals.

So it take it those marks around the hole are no big deal then

Just make sure the bulkhead is completely flush with the hole so it doesn't leak. Testing this and or sanding it down could help I'd test it first

good job m8! i drilled 4 holes in my tank and got a small bit of spintering like you on them all. my bulkheads are hand tight and no leaking so far : ) as redfish blue fish said " you are now an expert" congrats

You always get the chipping, particularly if you are using a hand held drill - vs a press. I find that a small circular grinding stone that fits into a drill does an adequate job of smoothing the edges. The stone can be particularly handy if the hole has ended up slightly out of round and too snug for the bulkhead fitting to go through.
