Just ordered the media basket, fuge basket, chemipure, and purigen from them last week. Hope to get it this week and change out the dreaded bioballs. I was thinking of just leaving chaeto in the fuge basket, and the chemipure/purigen/filter floss in the media basket since i have 25lbs of live rock in the dt. Thoughts?

Yeah that sounds great. I run the exact same thing. Works great. floss in top tray, purigen in middle, chemipure in bottom. I had chaeto in the fuge but the light died. so judt rock in mine now. cant wait to get that back up and running! I think you took a great step on that filtration! All looks good.

I would check it, coral and reef tanks should be right around 1.025. When I get premixed SW, it is 1.020, so I need to add salt to mine to keep the SG where I want it. Nice looking tank, I have had a 14g biocube and now a 29g biocube. They are a nice AIO and with a few upgrades they can be very good tanks. The InTank baskets are great additions, I didn't see if you had upgraded the main pump but you might replace it with a MJ1200, if you order online you can get one for about $20, my LFS carries them for $35. You will get better flow and it seems to put out less heat than the stock pump.

Parameters are pretty good. Salinity is up to 1.025. Added a bit of 1.026 saltwater in my tank from lfs and it helped. My clownfish seem to be doing great on their diet of copepods and frozen mysis every other day. Added a small zoa to the tank and started dosing tank with Kent marine chromaplex

Nifty light is not so nifty. Going to shop for an led alternative. Temps are getting up to 82.

High temperatures are one of the problems with the BioCube. I finally removed my top and hung an LED fixture above. Have not had to look at temperature since.

I made my own fuge light with a plastic gang box, a light socket, a poser cord and a Cree LED bulb all from HD at a total cost of about $18

I kept my hood but got a LED retrofit kit and temps have not been an issue
