anyone know where I can get these hose tails:

I just need the stepped adapters. I cut mine to handle 1' hose and now I need them back to where I can put 1/2" on them. American Aquarium is out of them and no one else has them in the U.S. that I can find.

3d print them? Should be a pretty easy print. I've done similar for a Sicce Silent 1.0 (the one on the left) and it has been in service for over two years.

I was looking at buying a used UV that was missing them and couldnt source them anywhere. Even reached out to American Aquarium with no luck.

I didn't have a 3d printer at the time, but that is a fantastic idea now that I have one!

@dantimdad if you print them, would you be willing to share or link me to the file?

ok remixed a design and added to it and now have working hose barbs. Waiting on a new bulb and I can hook up the UV.
New bulb? Seems like you just got that UV about 4 or maybe 5 months ago.

It's been quite a while. But I also took it offline before the rimless tank sold. To be honest, I think I messed up the bulb. It comes on but it's white.

Not a big deal. It was supposed to have been here today but it looks like it got hung up.

Ok so I finally found the parts for my reactor.

Is this too much flow for GFO?

Could be as, generally, you want it to look like slow boiling water. I think it's pretty close though.

So I found a fantastic deal on a GHL doser slave unit and will be using it with my Maxi 2.2 SA to dose all4reef at first. Later, if growth demands it, I will switch to two part or some other method.

I have been so happy with the ease of use and accuracy of the Maxi, I decided to find a slave unit and use it. Luckily it's the 4 head and from a fellow R2R member.

I will keep y'all posted on the arrival, installation and setup.

Now, if I could just find a profilux 4 for $100.... 😁

Speaking of deals. Yall remember my old 93 cube thread? It was given back to me last night. Only thing missing is the sump and rock. All the plumbing, titanium heater, pump and noopsyche light is still with it. Never got setup. It was ins storage since my friend bought it from me.

I have no idea what I am going to do with it. I just didn’t want it set out on the street.

If I do set it up, it’ll be planted or possibly mbuna cichlids. But I can’t have it in the house so I probably will scavenge parts that o can use and find a new home for the rest.

Small water change (6 gallons) done to use up what's left in Brute.

Cleaned glass, power heads and replaced one and added another powerhead. For the first time ever, I found that one of the 6045's was not working and the impeller blade was broken loose. I ordered a new impeller after testing one from another. Luckily I keep spare power heads. Running 3 now. Two 6025 and a 6045. When the impeller comes in, will swap out a 6025 for the 6045 and it should be enough flow finally.

The reactor for GFO has a leak and caused a two gallon or so mess. Cleaned that up and took it offline to figure out the leak. Meanwhile, back to a media bag in the filter sock. May just stay that way.

Gonna test PO4 and NO3 in a bit.

Salinity is steady at 1.025 as of yesterday. The AWC is doing its job. however, today, the salinity was 1.024 from the leak so I tossed in about 150 grams of salt about an hour before the water change to bump it back up. As of right now, it's on 1.025

I really hope the algae backs off more soon.

Ok gang my PO4 is .05! I believe I will back off on gfo, keep the AWC and add chaeto on a reverse light cycle as well as go to every 2 weeks doing a 10% change.

I’m pretty happy to finally have the level down to a good place.

Bout time... 😀 😉
