Indeed it is.

ok so this is ridiculous but gonna be fun.

I got back the 93 cube and was going to set it up freshwater and it will fit but it just looks bulky where it's sitting and does limit reaching a few things in the corner.

While have a conversation with a buddy he said "I have a seapora 60 cube that's not doing anything". If you recall, that's the same cube as my reef. ****gears instantly turning****. (Yes, Crusso, that took some wd40 to loosen them up) So he is trading me the tank and a couple Hannah checkers and a kessil controller for the 93 and stand. 😍

So, I am going to have a matched set of 60 cubes, one planted, one reef on either side of the lab bench. I am going to mirror image the floating canopy, run a kessil tuna sun in it and build an extrusion stand to match. I will block the drain and drill it for a water change system like the 12 footer and run and fx4 I have. Should work like a champ. All for $0 because I already have everything I need including blasting sand substrate and the plants.

I can even T off the filtered water supply from the other planted tank and run it around to the 60 cube. I have all the supplies to do that as well.

A buddy is bringing me altum angels to trade for baby Cory cats. I will have to spend some money on some tetras I want unless someone will trade plants and/or equipment for them.

The 60 arrives a week from Saturday. I better get to work. Sherry says I have to finish painting the laundry cabinets and install the slide outs in the lower kitchen cabinets before I can fill the 60.

Went ahead and ordered new tubing and some missing couplers.

That way I am sure I’m starting off right when I calibrate it.

Stuff should be here in a couple days.

Well dang. Good thing I did an inspection after I took that photo.

The waste pump head is leaking. Split hose. I shut the AWC off until the new hose gets here. I will clean it up, replace both hoses just to be safe and grease everything up again.

That could have been a disaster. From now on, I will inspect every couple days.

After looking at that pic, I really need to tidy stuff up more. Especially with the new setup going in and starting dosing soon. I may have to figure out how to route the wire for a new circuit to that wall just for the new tank and lab bench.

Time to breakout the Velcro for wire bundling and label maker!

Look familiar?

I whipped this up today. Also had to make a mount for the Kessil to fit as high up in the canopy as possible.

It’s almost perfectly flush with the bottom. I wanted it tucked up further but using the same height canopy as the reef it’s not gonna work.

Oh well it should look good none the less.

Well I ordered the wrong tubing for the maxi. Got the right ones for the 2.1 so maintenance is done on it.

Hopefully the correct tubing will be here Sunday.

For now, doing a 15 gallon water change and testing.

I’ll go ahead and get the 2.1 setup and calibrated and possibly programmed to dose all for reef if the alk is low.

someone from a local group pointed me to an eBay sale for medical grade continuous duty in the right size for the maxi 2.2 doser and says it works perfectly and basically doesn’t ever fail.

Here’s progress on the new setup. Gotta clean up the mess and set the height after the tank gets here.

Oh and yes, Crusso, the metal fish is off center. I will be fixing it. Technically it is centered but in the wall not centered on the tanks.

I'd leave it. You know it will make Chris nuts.

Speaking of centered: that light over where the new tank will sit does not look centered. I guess it could just be me though.

Then there are the bins on the left wall. Red bins mixed with yellow bins and blue bins mixed with red and yellow bins mixed with yellow. I tried to place my hand over the left side of the photo as fast I could but, it was too late, I had already started twitching.

The stand is the 93 cube stand. So, no, it's not centered. I took measurements and used a laser level to make sure it would be centered on the new tank. I will put the stand there and double check before placing the tank in case I have to change something.

The bins were free when the oral surgeon my wife worked for closed. I got over a hundred of them so the color bothers me until I add up how much I would have to spend to do all matching ones. 😁

I got back on the cabinet doors and got the slide outs done this weekend. Should finish up just in time to work on the tank this weekend.

Update on the truck. I found the issue with the Tach being intermittent. I have to pull the gauge cluster to get to it. It's a loose ground. I will replace the broken speedometer cable while I am at it since it came in.

Also, my son bought a literal pallet of Ford transmissions and got me an M5OD v2 to swap out instead of the SROD. (gear heads will note: It's not really a Ford transmission. It is however, a Mazda transmission with a Ford bolt pattern and spline match.)

I decided while the transmission is out, I will take off the hood, adapt the OBS hood liner to work on it, pull the engine and clean the engine bay and replace the gaskets and paint the engine whilst it's out. It will honestly only take about 4 more hours and paint dry time to all that. Gotta love old straight six engines!

So, for a total of $300 in parts and some labor, I will have a new hoodliner, speedometer cable, painted engine and a 5 speed!

We plan on doing it while Daniel is down for a close friend of the boy's wedding in November. All hands on deck!

I forgot, @That Crusso Kid the deal on this isn't just how cheap the transmission is, it's a net zero. I got a laser job doing trophies for a film festival and it more than paid for it and the supplies. I know you LOVE hearing how I get ridiculous deals. 😉
